i ordered it yesterday on amazon (DE) with express delivery and got it today for 135 euro total. i'm impressed by the picture quality and response time of the cam, it's perfect to carry around, easy to use and the recorded material is already in AVI format - no hazzle with MOV or MP4 conversion.
If you're looking for a small, cheap HD cam with decent picture quality: look no further. i compared all kinds of small, low budget HD cams (Kodak Zi6, Mino Flip HD, Sony Webbie and Sony TG7 which isn't low budget) and when it comes to a price:quality ratio, the Vado beats em all.
Pro:
+ Crisp picture and vivid colors
+ Records motion and not "frames"
+ Superlightweight
+ 8GB SSD HD
+ HDMI out
+ USB connector
+ AVI output
+ Wideangle glass lens
+ Fast auto-exposure
+ Tripod socket
+ Doesn't need drivers
+ Spare battery is only 15 bucks
Con:
- No memory slot
- USB plug prevents standing
- Minor colorchange (can) appear at borders
- Small (1-3px) white details can get a purple tint
- No pause function during recording
- Can't be used as webcam
Conclusion:
Best bang for the buck - for around 99$-140EUR you can't go wrong.
I wasnt impressed with the quality of my video once I'd downloaded it to my PC, certainly didnt look HD
