As work continues to install the LMRP Cap, this video animation illustrates how it will be connected to the drillship riser, prepped, maneuvered into position and installed on top of the BOP stack.

BP has created this YouTube channel to engage the public in an informative conversation and dialogue about our efforts associated with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. We want our page to be an appropriate forum for everyone. For more information on our Commenting Policy, please see the Latest News section on our main page: http://youtube.com/bp.

  • @Stickalas yes the youtube boycott does work. Do you know how much money they spent on being a youtube partner, then making all of these videos? all of us are thumbs downing it to death so their money is WASTED!!! no one will watch them because the thumbs down is so low! Dont try to discurage us. it wont work.

  • @kdavidmcd Hopefully they'll recover, or that's my future pension fund in jeopardy ;) Also I have no concept of the value of a gallon of oil, a gallon is a ridiculous and unusable form of volume. Bloody yanks ;) Just kidding, you can keep your imperial units.

Also, BP produce a lot more than just consumer gasoline, you'll need to check all of your plastics, heating oil, gas heating and cooking, any flights you take might use BP oil, bitumen on the road. It's a lot of hard work going BP free...

  • @Stickalas It's not just a youtube boycott. I've convinced my friends and family not to buy gas from a BP station. There are two gas stations right next to eachother down the street from me. One is a BP station. At the other station, it's hard to find an empty spot to get gas, as opposed to the BP station being completely empty. Remember 2 years ago when gas was $4 a gallon? BP's PROFIT that year was $87 BILLION I believe, straight out of OUR POCKETS!!

  • @kdavidmcd Okay, 1: Your youtube boycott will do nothing I assure you. 2. Gas and oil prices are set at the end of each day by analysing oil future exchanges and trade journals, meaning; prices are set by their MARKET VALUE, and not by the whim of any company executives.

  • @Stickalas Gas prices are too high. If one company is forced to lower their prices due to a boycott, then other companies would be forced to lower their prices. I'd buy BP gas if it was 50 cents or a dollar a gallon less than other fuel companies, but since it's actually a few cents higher, I will continue to BOYCOTT BP!!!
