Aspartame, FDA requires industry funded scientific studies

(More at http://www.aspartame.org) Consumers may not realize that producers of Aspartame (since it is a food ingredient) are required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to fund scientific studies prior to approval for consumption. Since the industry studies were funded, there have been more than 100 other studies conducted on Aspartame and deemed it safe. Experts in toxicology also reviewed more than 500 studies on Aspartame and deemed it safe.
