Antón 1999-2 Procesión - Procession

En la noche tranquila del 15 de enero, en plena época de secas, los esquipulistas, campesinos de la montaña vecina, caminan por las calles de Antón, cargando sus pequeñas imágenes de Cristo y sonando sus instrumentos que semejan los ruidos del campo lleno de vida durante los días de lluvia. La gente local se agrupa detras de la banda de Bomberos, seguida por el gran Cristo de Esquipulas de Antón.

On a peaceful night on 15 January, during the dry season, the esquipulistas, peasants from the neighbouring mountains, stroll through the streets of Anton carrying their small images of Christ and playing their instruments which resemble the sounds of the fields full of life during the rainy season. The local townspeople walk behind the Band of the Fire Department, followed by the great Christ of Esquipulas from Anton.
