{Chorus} If it had not been for the Lord on my side / Tell me where would i be? Where would i be? 2X {Verse1} He kept my enemies away / He let the sun shine through a cloudy day / Oh, then He wrapped me in the cradle of His arms / When He knew I'd been battered and scarred. {Chorus} {Verse2} He never left me alone / He gave me joy and peace I've never known / Oh, He answers when i get down to pray / And with vict'ry the Lord showed me the way {Chorus} {Tags...}

  • The song has always been excellent. Lynda Randle's voice, and the piano of Andre Crouch, make it really come alive. If you don't understand the song, please read the lyrics a bit more closely. Jesus is really very simple but some of us make him seem rather complicated.

  • Takk jeg vil lytter mer.

  • @debbieolaah Dr. Margaret P. Douroux wrote this back in the 1970's one Sunday morning on her drive into Inglewood, CA to her church from her home in Thousand Oaks, CA (about 50 miles). Her husband was driving and while studying her Sunday school lession she penned the lyrics (from Psalms). This is now in some hymn books with some of her other selections (she has hundreds).

  • The word translation is so wrong but the song is perfect

  • I love that song. These two did it justice. If Andrae Crouch is in the credits my guess is that it is going to be a great piece. He certainly did not disappoint in this one.
