A Calvinist could easily win this discussion by saying God only loves the elect. But I cant pretend I'm a Calvinist.

What I will say is that we are not children. We are mature adults who get to make a rational decision whether to accept or reject Him.

Also, many Christians believe that hell is defined as eternal separation from God, not as a lake of literal fire. That eternal separation from God is eternal torment.

One more thing-Heaven (eternal union with God) is the perfect existence only if everyone who is there is there by choice. If you were forced to be there itis not so great. So the best way to that perfect existence is through this existence.

@SokJuice Dude, I probably should not have said your comment was stupid in the beginning. But I am really sick of people dishing out Christianity all the time. No one seems to have a go at other religions, they are always attacking Christianity - which I suppose tells me it is true as the Bible says mankind will attack Christianity.

@SokJuice I don't eat shrimp. I don't selectively interpret, I just read it and understand it as I read any book. What's there to interpret? It's a historical book of facts. But to understand how it fits into your life you need God for that. If you really want to find God, read it and ask him to help you, not hard to do. And Christians acting more like Jesus, how do you know they aren't already? Do you know EVERY Christian? And remember we can strive to be like him, but never will.
