I love George Shearing.
But I really find it distasteful when people spend all of their time belittling others' musical tastes instead of just enjoying their own good taste.

he added a bit of debussy there :)

George also has a wicked sense of humor

@Tarabos1 Your friend is very insightful

Wow. This sounds like an incredibly difficult piece to play. George plays it flawlessly though, of course.
R.I.P., one of the best. If there is an afterlife, I imagine George and Billy Taylor and all the jazz piano greats hang out and jam on grand pianos all day!

Goodbye George, I wish you peace.

@nassar57 Couldn't agree more !
This is exquisite ...

I will NEVER understand, why real true great (etc.) music/musicians is/are/was/were most UNKNOWN in the clumsy mainstram public (?) A friend of mine answered: People just listen to music they are personally deserving!

It's all part of the dumbing down process- fools are easily manipulated. George Shearing and his contemporaries are remnants of a time when independent thinking was the praised rather than feared, and when true merit reigned rather than group-think and the "teaming" consensus of protean groups. (I better shut up before they "."vote me off the island.")
