Laptop (Jesse Hartman) does a cover of Wreckless Eric's classic song "Whole Wide World". Taken from the Laptop album "Guilt". Jesse Hartman was previously in the band Sammy with Luke Wood.

  • What is he doing these days? I have all 3 Laptop albums (opening credits, the old me vs the new you, don´t try this at home) and the two Sammy albums... Thanks for uploading this...

  • There are some EPs, too. User Guide is a good one. I think he's playing solo in NYC sometimes...? I dunno, I want more music from him, too...!

  • Can't find 'Nothing to declare' on Youtube, which is a damn shame since it's my favourite Laptop song. Well done for posting this though, GG.

  • @curtconnors It's up now. :)

  • never heard of laptop! love wreckless eric. what else have laptop done? is it all covers?

  • Also, I can't recommend his old band Sammy enough. You can get their best album "Tales of Great Neck Glory" for about a penny on the big online used CD places. It's like a fresh-faced Lou Reed fronting a more new-wave version of Pavement, with a sort of warped Television-ish intellectual NYC punk vibe to it.

  • @goombamakker Jesse's a successful filmmaker in NYC nowadays. He and I are close friends. Talented bastard, I hate him.

  • YEAH I KNOW!! What is he doing? DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THE MOVIE? THATS WHAT HE WAS GONNA DO AFTER THE ALBUM "DONT TRY THIS AT HOME". WE NEED TO BRING HIM BACK AND I"M GONNA START A FACEBOOK CAMPAIGN COME AND JOIN IT!! I LOVE LAPTOP!!

  • House of Satisfaction, a movie.

  • I think Laptop were one of the first to get on the early 80's electronic sound, there are hundreds of artists in the uk and europe trying to sound like this now

  • rapid, man

  • I got the album, I think called User Manual, when it came out and I loved it. I think that there was a copy of this video on the CD. It's hard to find out more about this band because internet searches for "Laptop" and "User Manual" lead to other results.
