  • yeah, this pedal was a real headache at gigs. The LED's are great to look at but tuning by gauging two flashing lights can be difficult at gigs.

I've got the TC electronic polytune which is amazing. The display can be difficult to read but my knees still work so i just bend down.

  • @suroj the polytune will probably be my next pedal tuner ... but I bought the Artec a long time ago and I am still happy with it and it's not broken yet ... I love being able to talk and have just a quick look down to tune.

  • do not buy this tuner its crap, takes about a sec to even realise that you plucked the string and it jumps around when trying to tune the b as it catches the harmonics the battery cover falls off its just not that great. iv had mine for over a year and am looking at getting industry standard boss tuner

  • @quisestvitapro you're right about the battery cover ... but don't forget it's half the price !

... when it is cold it just falls off, I put some duct tape to solve this issue ...I used it on rehearsal, at more than 15 gigs this year, had no problems to use setup and tune. (I use an acoustic guitar with piezo+electret with a loud signal from a Fishman preamp. I still like the bright display (someone said it is not clear, but it is....) Polytune or boss could be my next purchase ...

  • Whats the song you played during the review called and where can i find tabs?:)

  • Luka - Suzanne Vega (with some pentatonics up and downs because I don't wanted to sing) - sorry for the late reply

  • @davanlo Yeah, my artek still works fine and I wouldn't have replaced it, but I was very fortunate to be given the polytune by a violinist friend who didn't need really need it. The ability to check and adjust the tuning of all your strings at the same time can in invaluable at times when set times are strict.

  • that's true man! sin

  • I didn't notice this problem with my unit ...

But the batttery cover sometimes falls off, so in regular use I have to use tape on it.

  • Be careful when buying this pedal.

For use in practise, it's awesome, but it's not gigworthy.

Although it isn't noticable at practise levels, when you've got your amp cranked up, it makes a big pop sound whenever you turn it on or off.

Also, it's not precise enough, unless you wanna spend absolutely ages tuning. I find that it just gives an indication of the pitch, and you have to finish the job.

  • this wan is bright YES but not clear
