Ted Simons interviews a shining star in the universe of astrophysics, Neil deGrasse Tyson. The author and host of PBS NOVA ScienceNOW talks about what sparked his interest in the cosmos. Ted also asks what Tyson has against Pluto, the celestial body that was discovered at Flagstaff's Lowell Observatory.

Ripped this video from AZPBS to make it more public. The video was by no means easy to access so it would only be appropriate to make it more accessible.

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • that was NOT stra trek!! that was "back to the future"!!!!

  • @MrGem7

I wouldn't call him a genius. Einstein, Newton, and Gallileo were geniuses because they revolutionized the science of their day. Tyson hasn't done anything on that scale, and i think he himself would admit that. However, he is a very brilliant, and extremely articulate man and i think he is a great bridge between the public and science.

  • @MrGem7 Who the hell wants intelligent people with good ideas in positions of power?

  • Tyson is so inspiring. I almost want to become a scientist instead of an engineer.

  • Thanks MicroHive for all three parts, what a great upload. This should be on the homepage of YT so people have the opportunity to watch an inspiring pioneer in the field of Astrophysics, Science has a bad reputation for egocentric scientists who argue over theorems and problems, Mr Tyson however makes the whole subject seem no more complex than rules of a football or basketball game.

  • @0sAndOnes I wasn't calling Neil Tyson dumb.. the interviewer was dumb. Neil Tyson is incredibly smart, so get your fucking facts straight before you call me a tool.

  • @TheGeorgevt lol@you callling an astrophysicist dumb because he got music to your fav. tv show wrong. you fucking tool

  • @MrGem7 I hear you man, current government restricts true scientific progress nowadays. I beleive we are in a transition at the moment, where we are looking towards scientists and critical thinkers..... rather than polititians

  • Star Trek? what a dumbass, thats definitely the twilight zone theme not star trek
