The flatscreen was bought in march 2007. Since one week the backlight is flickering for round about 40 secs after "cold boot" (switched off for at least 10 hrs)

Fortunately a decent solution is available on ytube!
Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjjpmCcs8ho for further information! Hope it'll help

  • I bought A Samsung 226W in jun 2007. It started flickering exactly the same as this a few weeks ago. And it itakes longer and longer before it jumps on

  • @razorlord2 I've replaced three caps since the flickering got worse and worse until is never stopped :(

I've had no experience with that kinda work at all but the hole process of replacing the caps was really easy. Overall the material just cost me about 1,50 EUR and the screen is working perfectly fine since one year now.

    I've replaced two 25V 830µF with two 25V 1000µF and one 25V 330µF with same specs. :)

  • Wow! and I thought it was just mine, I have the same monitor, and it started flikering just like that a few months ago.

  • @JoeyJoeJoe5000 its getting worse...now i have to wait about an hour until the flickering stops.

  • Man, how is it that everyones Samsung 226bw starts doing this lol. Im going to try replacing the capacitors tomorrow.

  • @itsthefreemind Yup, I thats how long it takes for mine too X_X I just got a new monitor lol

  • it's not the backlight, it's blown capacitors. It's a fairly straightforward fix. Look on YouTube for tutorials.
