  • The Joker, Fly Like An Eagle, and Book of Dreams are all such GREAT albums. Steve is one of the best songwriters ever imo. Non musicians don't often realize writing short catchy tunes like jet airliner or take the money and run is HARD. FLAE was a long jam out tune when Steve first wrote it, and when it came time to put it on record, he refined it and refined it like the artist he is. It woulda been ALOT easier to keep it as a long epic tune like it is live.

  • Holy crap....I have loved this guy since my now exhusband played "Dear Mary" for me when I was 19 years old....He is the musician that played the soundtrack of my life....Commericial? NOT. A poet, a musician a human being of the first kind. The East Coast adores Stevie 'guitar' Miller...(ps - my Mother is a Doctor as well!!!)

  • My guess for the riff is "My Dark Hour"--a couple of years earlier--with the great Paul Ramon!

  • Sooo, he's NOT in the Rock and Roll hall of fame?...that's good, very good. Because the Rock and Roll hall of fame is a fucking travesty....

  • Book of Dreams has been my favorite album since 1977. Actually it was my favorite 8 track then.

  • Steve Miller is one of the rock 'n roll legends

like stones, beatles, berry, hendrix, sprinsteen, turner and and and... His latest two albums(bingo & let your hair down) are soooo coool - listen them & have a good time...

  • "Sugar Babe" off his Joker LP...serious Southern Rock, before Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet or .38 Special got out of high school. To this day, I get a thrill listening to his guitar playing in layers on it. He's as good a producer as he is a songwriter/performer.

  • He is definitely a rock srat and deserves to be in the RHOF in Cleveland for sure. HELLO CLEVELAND!!!

  • I remember Steve Miller opening up for KISS in 1979 at Vets here in Des Moines, best concert I have ever seen.

  • To me hes the greatest rock star of all time....Down to earth and views himself as a normal guy. Wish he got more credit for what he created.
