Then decreasing wages are not because of the unions.. they are despite the unions who are complicit with the company in allowing illegal aliens to be employed at half the wages of Americans. I have no problem with goverment coming in and detaining everyone to find out who should be her and who should not. Unions are like any other buisness.They are there to make money its not like the old days. And by allowing illegals the become union members deteorates rights of legal citizens who are union members because the illegals do no complain about hours no lunches etc. We need to get them out of the U.S and stop the hiring of illegals and arrest those who use false identity.

the problem is that a lot of unions are serving the interests of the union bosses, not the workers. if they were for workers, they would be working with the authorities in enforcement efforts. the problem is unions want more poor workers so they can have more members and then more dues. they effectively ignore the root cause of the falling wages in this industry, the surplus of cheap labor that comes from the illegal alien invasion of this country.

There are more than 2 sides to this GODDAMN story people!!! It IS POSSIBLE to be for unions AND against illegal/undocumented workers!! I agree that the UFCW is using illegals for pawns in their membership drives, but that does not mean that many meatpacking facilities don't need a union! Look at Smithfield Tar Heel, NC plant: they had ICE raids last year which was a company ploy to scare illegals. It backfired! Now they have much less illegals AND a union!

its so ironic that these unions claim to represent the worker but instead of being led by workers, they are led by union bosses whose purpose is to collect the dues from the dues paying members illegal or not. when pressed on this issue, their argument gets all wishy washy with the "hard worker" pcbs sob story. this representative is right when he says that that corporations supress wages by hiring illegals, but does nothing about it. he sounds like he's correcting the symptom not the problem.
