@allenshepard Yes, I have heard those recordings. He was never a great singer & would prolly readily admit that. But that is not the point. Bob Dylan was a horrible signer & guitarist. Yet he, like Pete, wrote & sang from his heart, which is what counts.
As to his Leftist stance: if a man stands for true justice & equality, then any labels are irrelevant.

Pete's great strength was never his voice - but his heart, which is where he sang from. That is what makes him & his music so wonderful: that he has spent a lifetime peacefully bringing important messages to ppl.
He is truly a national treasure! Sto Lat!

Gotta love Pete... I'd love to be as sharp at nearly 30 as he is at nearly 90, saw him doing this song on Letterman the other day.. they just don't make them like that anymore... I can't remember the last time a musical guest try and get the audience to sing along.. (successfully, no less!)
