A follow-up to my previous comparison video. For those who wonder how big of a difference an upgrade to High Definition will be. Remember that this video does NOT make Blu-Ray justice. It must be viewed IRL!

Credits to Xylon on avsforum.com and a few other people for the screens. The video was rendered in Sony Vegas using Windows Media Video @ a 6mbps bitrate and 1280x720 resolution.

blu ray is sooooooooooooooooooo much better than the dvd..... but the dvd is allright... that's why ps3 is better than xbox360.............

@fatsachs $30? where did you get that number from? the standard blu ray cost about $24.96. plus there's many sales and deal. i just bought terminator 2 and robocop for 8 bucks each. as for switching over. that could tough. but since i never bought dvds, i just jumped over

@A55ma57er Blu Ray has already been replaced by digital distribution. Blu ray looks and sounds much nicer than most streamed video, but eventually it will be on par with Blu Ray.

@sa140 I'm not sure if blu ray will ever have the chance to replace dvd when digital distribution and streaming are so cheap and convenient, you also don't need special hardware to watch netflix movies, you can use pretty much any game console, computer, tablet or smartphone.
Digital distribution is the future, Blu Ray is the last disc based format for films.
