Using Blender version 2.5 to make a simple ball game from scratch.

The tutorial shows how to use the Game logic layout and how to change to the game engine renderer.

The game consists of a ball resting on a plane, by pressing the arrow keys the plane rotates and the ball rolls. The object of the game is to get the ball to roll into holes made in the plane.

The movement of plane is set up in the logic editor window, setting up keyboard sensors and linking them to motion actuators (keyboard event and event handling routine).

The sphere is added to the scene and its physics properties need to be set to rigid body.

The game file as well as other resources can be found at my website - http://blender.freemovies.co.uk

  • @cavedwarf2 I have got tutorials that show you both.

  • it dus not bend fast enough

  • @cavedwarf2 Increase the number of degrees the plane rotates in the motion actuator.

  • I have a flying ship, and I want it so that if I push w it moves forward, but when I release w, I want the ship to keep moving a bit until it comes to a complete stop. How can I set that up. Ive tried over and over again to ask in the blender forums and nobody will help me. Al they tell me to do is make the ship a rigid body. Ive done that and tried to add force in x but all my ship does is flip..please I need help with this

  • @rahkriga I am sorry but I cannot give detailed help, I have not got the time or the knowledge but have you tried my tutorial - 'Blender Game Engine - How to Make a Set of Colliding Balls/Spheres Using the Physics Engine', it is not very long and the balls move with momentum and without gravity so it might help you.

  • @ianscott888 Thats cool..thx for telling me about that vid..will check it out now

  • @BeastieKitten321 If you connected both the up arrow and the left arrow to a new AND controller and connected that to a motion actuator to that moved the board in both directions?

  • ian i was wondering if its possible to create a keyboard action like up arrow and left arrow and make it to where if you press both buttons it moves diagonally upish left is that possible? if so how could i do that?

  • I'm fairly new to Blender. Thank you for showign me this. This is one of the best tutorials out there.
