The Midcoast Skilled Workforce Forum was developed as a venue for key stakeholders in the skill level and educational attainment of the workforce in Midcoast Maine to gather together to share resources, identify challenges, and collaborate on solutions. This Forum was held on October 1, 2010 in Wiscasset, ME.

The Introduction to the Panel Discussion was given by Rosa Redonnett, Executive Director of Student Affairs at the University of Maine System. The Executive Director is responsible for advising the Chancellor, Chancellor's Staff and the Board of Trustees on all matters affecting student life on the campuses of the University of Maine System (UMS), and most specifically on those matters impacting the persistence, graduation and success of all students within the UMS. In collaboration with the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Executive Director provides System-wide leadership to enhance and promote student success through collaborative efforts within the University of Maine System, with other higher education institutions, and within the preK-20 education community. This position provides system-wide leadership and support on furthering campus efforts to provide for the intellectual, cultural, social, recreational, emotional, and personal development of all students.

Prior to her appointment to this position, Rosa served as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at the University of Southern Maine (USM) from 1994-2008, the Executive Director for Extended Academic Programs at USM from 1989-1994 and the Director of Summer Session at USM from 1987-1989. She worked within the Division of Continuing Education at Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, MA from 1982-1987, and worked as an advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Northeastern University in Boston from 1980-1982. She received her MBA from Northeastern University and her BA in International Business from Simmons College.
