I have 2 commend Shabb on this interview , Having lived the same era, and expierienced the same purpose he explains, I have felt what he is saying 1st hand, & he is the 1st I've heard express it He is 1 of the few I've heard speak on the influence of the 60s.& how that gave us purpose...There were many who struggled in the hoods where the dance of locking gave them the same elements, but it did not give all the same oppurtunity..much respect 2 Shabb for daring 2 speak the real..Og SkeeterRabbit
He just articulated what I have intuitively felt for some time. Good art tells the truth.I can definitely see "the truth" when I look at them dance.I can see that need in the 70s youth to say it loud because we as a people were tired of being walked on and not counted. Whether its music, dance, or a picture good art tells the truth.
Any just now watching this listen to this interview. Listen to this man speak passionately about dancing. Be sure...NOT... to miss the question the interviewer ask @ 6:03
that was a weird ass fuckin question to ask him "what do you think about stripping?" this interviewer was just pullin shit out of his ass, hahah...but it was great to have an interview with Shabba Doo on video.
Shabba needs to get twitter.
