  • haha at least you apologized ;]

Katas are just forms, showing various "moves" of a style. I'm a chinese martial artists myself (Wing Chun). Forms basically go through concepts, and when you actually apply them, they don't have to be just like in the form. Rather, you take the idea that you learned from the form and figure out for yourself how to use it. :D

  • @MstrKordell lol, did you not read the description on this video? the performer is the grandson of the Meitoku Yagi, the creator of this kata...

  • @openmindedproduction Let me say this again. I just read what I wrote the other day and that made no got damn sense. What I meant to say was that I wonder how many school bullies actually go to these demonstrations only to learn that the people they pick on at school have the competence to kick their ass.

  • @alansadler1 I am sorry to tell you this but master Yagi has passed on. May his spirit rest with god forever. He will be missed.

  • @ashyworth of course not, but it's hard to criticize an almost flawless performance of the kata by the grandson of the creator who's training and expertise in it is most likely much greater than anyone posting here and throughout most of the world

  • @openmindedproduction so that means its impossible for him to perform the kata a little stiff?

  • Also went to Okinawa in 2008 and trained with Master Meitatsu Yagi. Since our return we have incorporated a lot of what we learnt into our syllabus including this Kata. We are going back in July 2011, so looking forward to it, such an honour to train with Master Yagi.

  • Karate-do is one of the most beautiful martial arts. It can help you in times of trouble, punching, blocking, kicking and locking.
