Love it when mom and dad have to pipe up about "ooh no, don't wear that, you'll get hurt!". As far as I can tell, that guy's an adult, and he's fully capable of making his own choices as far as what gear he feels comfortable with. Next time, make sure to tell him to tie his shoes up tight and look both ways before he crosses the street.
