  • Crap salesman bullshit

  • love the a2b 15%off go look at NOBAGSGREEN

  • It's more about how the motor is restricted due to the speed laws. If a bike can be powered to go faster than 16mph, it needs to be registered as a scooter.

Still, 200W giving more power than 250W says a lot about the product.

  • Good idea about the stacking batteries!but £250 gimme a break man, you can get a LIFEPO4 which is even better than lithium polymer for about £160 (10AH). As usual like everything in britain it's overpriced completely. 250watts is pretty much useless i think, even a 2 percent grade will make it bog down. the law needs to change on that to, why cant they just limit speed instead of wattage, if a 2kw motor is limited to 15mph it would be awesome, then you'd still have all the torque you need!

  • I like this one!

  • Yes..but I am talking about market penetration..you need something fast enough (and cheap enough) that you can also pedal and for the law to be watered down. Whats the point of restricting an electric vehicle to lower speeds than that of a bicycle!!(especially one that is designed to be a bicycle!) Britian wont get greener or cleaner until viable alternatives are available. I am a responsible cyclist with a 48v 1000W motor on a foldable MTB. I can get around london faster than anyone.

  • They are 'electrical assist' vehicles, designed to make cycling easier, not replace pedalling altogether, ideal for lazy people like me, or the older generation.

The legal limit on the motor is 250 watts, and 15 mph top speed (in the UK), beyond that it can not be classed as a normal bike. 250 watts (1/3 hp) wont climb a steep hill on its own, but it'll help you do it a lot easier than by just pure pedalling :)

Some pretty cheap kits available on Ebay...

  • Electric bicycles are never going to take off unless the prices come WAAAAYYY down and they actually can go FASTER that a human powered bike..otherwise whats the point of the extra weight....250W will not climb a hill!!!! 24v will not go very fast at all

You need 1000W plus to manage all hills. and at least 48v for decent speed at a price of less than 1500USD to rival savings against other modes of transport without being disabled or old-aged.

  • 15mph, I know somebody who can cycle a lot faster than that!

  • I totally agree!

I thought you were going to do a complete rendition of the Monty Python song just then :))
