  • well said. I think we give passes to our own parties when they do heinous things, b/c we believe in the rest of the stuff ??

2 parties are easy enough to influence.

being independent is the greatest !

  • I wouldn't make it all THAT extreme, "probably never have an original idea of your own." But I feel that just too many people opt for what is the easy way out; find a group that has ideas, latch onto them, and stay with their direction, regardless. Pretty scary, actually.

  • What!? You actually MEAN you don't want to compartmentalize your views to the decided boxes that you should fit into? Sounds almost like you have your own thoughts and beliefs! And thats just wrong (Yes, this is ALL sarcasm).

Youre right, of course, and I applaud you and your very well presented views. I remember the days when Independent was a Good Thing. Following a single group is a one size fits all concept. One size just doesnt fit all, its the size that fits you that matters.

  • Well put, I also consider myself an independent thinker. I believe there are only two kinds of people in this world, those that make things happen & those that wonder what happened. With a herd mentality you are not supporting your own ideals, you have decided not to be a leader but a follower and will probably never have an origional idea of your own.
