Craig Dean (Implies slash JP/C)

Okay this is the full video to the preview I put up the other day on
Hollyoaks, including a bigger description, as well as some thoughts and links to where I got my clips and where you can watch the soap, for those unlucky to not live in the UK or missed this storyline. The whole John Paul/Craig storyline has to be one of my favourite storylines on Hollyoaks. The portrayal is so realistic and heart wrenching and I am so sad that it is all over now. I will miss them both so much.

Basically, Craig and John Paul have been found out to be having an affair whilst Craig is going out (and engaged) to a girl called Sarah. His mother and brother struggle with the thought of Craig being gay- Jake out-rightly detests it, and his mother does a mixture of desperately trying to reconcile Craig with Sarah in spite of Craig telling her that he loves John Paul, virtually disowning him and tries to separate the pair without success. She also refuses to accept her sons sexuality.

I just wanted to do this vid, not only as a tribute to Guy Burnets fantastic acting in the storyline, but to show how much homophobia hurts, how close-minded it is to think that way. Craig in the storyline was terrified of being found out as having feelings for a man, and as I re-watched these episodes, I understand why much more.

I hope this video is able to somewhat portray the emotions in that part of the story, and that youll feel for Craig at how he was treated by his family. No-one deserves to be treated like that, no matter what sexuality you are, it doesnt change what type of person you are.

I don't comment on here very often but had to say i loved this video, some of it sent shivers down my spine. I think you caught just why Craig was so afraid throughout the McDean affair of being found out and judged by a family he was so close to.

This didn't bring a tear to my eye, I am literally crying BUCKETS right now. I never really saw Craig's point of view after the reveal, but by god, did I sympathasize for him here. His family abandoning him, it was what he feared from the start. Some of the things Frankie and Jake said to him, it made me so emotional. Amazing video... Homophobia hurts.

This was so amazing, most people make Craig out to be the jerk and JP the victim, but to me, I think it was the other way around. His whole world changed and you showed that brilliantly. And I know he's gay and everything, but I have completely fallen in love with Craig and his cardigans, especially, the snowflake jumper, so cute! Guy Burnet did an AMAZING job!
