December 1, 2007: Seen twice, NS 212 has TFM SD70MAC 1616, UP SD70M 4176, and UP SD70M 4149. First seen, MP 77.5 at around 4:20 AM, second seen, CP Laurel around 5 AM. Nice to see Transportación Ferroviaria Mexicana (KCS de México) with Union Pacific on the NS Harrisburg and NS Reading Line. Enjoy!

  • nice 35 car train, maybe 39, somewhere around there maybe more then that but from what I can see I counted 35 that I know, nice size train!

  • Wow, really? 212 is usually much longer. Saturday's 212 is shorter cause the AUTO MAX and other tri-level auto articulated cars go weekdays. As for the TOFC, it was pratically baretables, I never saw a 212 so bare.

  • Damn man u are a real night owl!The day I'm able to drag my ass out of bed that early would be miracle for me!The earliest I've ever caught a freight was around 6amish in Union Pacific's Feather River Canyon route earlier this year!!!GREAT VIDEO

EARLIER BIRD GETS THE TRAIN AS THEY ALWAYS SAY;-D

  • A new tactic of catching my prey would be sleeping with the scanner turned on, just loud enough to wake me up to hear something important, if it is just an average Joe, I fall asleep right away because I'm that tired. If it is the one, I'm out of the house in about 2 minutes :)

  • Nice catch! I especially liked the Laurel shot.

  • Yeah me too, I didn't really have time to prepare for either shot, notice how I almost missed him at Laurel.

  • I counted 65 Cars

  • Wow, a great video! I´ts cool to see mexican roadnames rolling in the usa.

  • NICE HORN!!!!

  • There were a good dozen foreign units on the Harrisburg Line and some more up the Lehigh Line, 4 were CP units which have trackage rights, so they can be considered foreign, although they are not exactly. I missed 214, which passed at 2 and I got up at 3. 214 had a BNSF, Santa Warbonnet (Fe was missing), and an exLMS. Some great stuff! I am glad to have gotten a break from Catfish :) Nick (Nanshant) caught 214 and 212, so he will be posting his videos soon, he was out since 1:45 AM!

  • Nice!! I knew you were going to be able to wake up very early to get this #212 with the Fmr. TFM, I've never even got a chance of filming these units or even Ferromex, they are just hard to find and not even availiable for power, the only thing they care about is Catfish, LOL. At least this month i'll be able to see units that not catfish, it has been a month now since any Foreign Power was filmed.
