http://www.flyte.biz - There are plenty of great survey tools on the market from Survey Monkey to Constant Contact. However, most of them cost money or have severe limits on the number of surveys, questions and/or participants you can have.

However, you can use Google Docs to create free online surveys that you can share via email, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, or even embed into your website or blog.

Start by going to http://docs.google.com and choosing Form under the "Create New" pull down.

As you create your online form you'll be able to choose from a number of different form types, including multiple choice, text fields and allowing people to answer on a scale.

Once you've completed your form you can share it with the world, or just a small subsection of the world. All of the answers are automatically saved to a spreadsheet in your Google Docs so you can review them later.

If you have any questions on how to use Google Docs to create online surveys please let us know in the comment section below or by visiting our website at http://www.flyte.biz.

  • thank you for your comment.

I realized that GoogleDocs dont allow randomization of questiions (i.e. for each page, questions are randomized to eliminate bias, or say if you have 3 different surveys for each page. GoogleDocs does not allow randomization for each page so that each respondent will complete the survey in different order).

are there any ways to randomize each questions or pages?

    thanks

    Asa

  • @asapee222 I don't believe there is. You'll need a tool like Survey Monkey, which does have a fremium model, for that.

  • Thank you for this tutorial!

    two questions:

After several people completed the survey, will I be able to export these files to Excel?

Also, will I be able to view each individual response (I need to conduct several tests ANOVA, t-test via SPSS) ?

    Thank again

  • @asapee222 Yes, you can export these files to Excel or any other spreadhseet.

Yes, you should be able to view individual responses.

  • Thank you~! It's very useful for my assignment. ^_^

  • I've created a survey targeting 2 different groups in one industry and compiled it in one survey but 2 different pages (I have put a page break), but I don't know why the submit button does not show on the 1st section and instead "continue" button is on the first page. Basically after each section I want the "submit button, is that possible?

    Thank you!

  • awesome thank you so much!!~!
