Part 2 of 2: I took a hard look at what people really want during an emergency situation, and came up with the "BEST" (Best Emotional Survival Tin) emergency kit that also addresses ones pyschological needs. You'll see the standard stuff, but also a few new items you may not have thought of. If stuck in the wilderness or in a bathtub after an earthquake, this is what I would want to have on my person.

  • Larry4smoke, you forget that a condom can hold a LOT of water. A very important item in a mini survival kit....If you can have safe sex with it too, then who am I to argue!

  • Incense: One time I was traveling on a Eurorail headed for Austria and I was stuck in a sleeper car with five smelly backpackers obviously coming back from their long trip. The smell was so bad I could hardly sleep. I could have used that stick of incense.

  • Who puts illegal joints in a survival kit? Is this a joke?

  • @OldManGlitch

Yeah like if theres a tornado or something you will probably find yourself in the bathtub for safety. If the house collapses on you it may be a while before rescue crews can dig you out. In which case about half the stuff in there is useless, but still some things are good. She was smart, thinking about real world emergencies.

  • This is more than just careful planning. You have actually been lost in the woods at least once, yes?

I notice women make a lot more consideration for comfort items like TP.

Smart choices all around and good selection on the unusual items, like a plastic bag that holds everything when you use the case for cooking.

I would swap out the basic pocket knife with either a small swiss army knife, or tiny multitool like the Gerber Vise. Also make sure you have good tweezers in your first aid kit.

  • Always talking about sex, I doubt you're gonna meet a fucking guy in the middle of the jungle, If you would then you wouldn't be fucking lost.

  • only one thing Id add for the POU of your kit, a locking blade knife. SOG makes a really thin locking blade knife that would be perfect for this kit. other companies have them too. you want about a 3" blade and a strong lock. In a stressful situation, a non locking blade may be folded onto your fingers...not a good thing. keep the scout knife for its tools, but definatly add a good quality lockback.. A good sparking tool is a good idea as well (your video skipped some stuff if its there already)

  • I wanna find this chick in the woods.....might survive, might not but evidently we'll party our asses off on the way out....who thinks of putting drugs, sex and rock n roll in their kit.....will you marry me? lol

  • Nice kit

  • Lame

  • A woman who is real about her vices. I love it. Cool Kit. I must be way out of it though, what is mean by being in a bathtub? Do you mean shelter, or what?

  • where did you get the little circular containers that you keep in the espresso cup?

and wow i never thought of the electronic cigarette...if only they made individually sealed chewing tobacco pouches...
