(By David Neiwert, http://crooksandliars.com ) Yesterday on Hardball, Chris Matthews had on John Velleco, who's listed as the "Director of Federal Affairs" for the Gun Owners of America, a gun-rights group that makes the NRA look relatively sane in comparison. (That's probably the reason for their existence.)
@morespams Unlike geniuses & experts like you who know the whole issue backwards and forwards?

I will also say here that Part A of Medicaire is a JOKE. It is basically useless - providing only the absolute minimum of care. And it is well known that for every dollar the govt gets for medicaire, it spends 80% on Administration - only 20% goes to health care. No private company could exist like this, but the government doesn't have to worry about competition. History shows that more powerful govt's are always bad for the people. We never learn from history.

I am a PART TIME SLAVE to the federal government. Do you support slavery, liberalparis?

Yes, I absolutely have knowledge about this. I grew up very poor, and I can absolutely tell you that my poor relatives get much better care than I do, and it is all free for them. ABSOLUTELY! I AM TELLING YOU THE TRUTH.
Now I have to get back to work - since the first 4 months of my pay (january 1 to april 30th) went to the federal government for taxes, I have to work extra hard for the rest of the year to pay for the social programs in this country. (to pay for the people who don't work)

no child dies from lack of health care in the US ? You have no idea.

no child dies from lack of health care in the US. This is a myth. The hospitals are legally bound to provide care to all. People in the US don't have insurance because they spend their money on other things (cars, cigarettes, alchohol, parties) rather than their health. Obama wants to make them spend it on healthcare, but the poor liberals haven't figured out that THEY will have to pay for it, not the RICH.

The difference is that the government has no competition. If you think the government won't deny health care, you are dead wrong - I speak from experience as a former Health Insurance Sales Agent. I saw, repeatedly, how older people could not afford Part B of Medicaire because the government raised rates substantially. I cover my family of 3 for $250 per month with a 10K deductible. The insurance is for really bad things, not colds and sniffles, and it is affordable and complete.

You said it yourself, health is a business in USA and it shouldn't. You agree with private companies denying health care to dying people, I think, like many people, that health should never be a profit, it's repugnant to think that some guy is building a new swimming pool for his mansion because he refuses care to a dying little children. Beside what's the difference between paying in form of tax or paying a private company ?

Why even take the time to respond to these people. They are probably students at a liberal university with no experience in the world. They only believe what the culture at the university tells them to believe.

Utilities make perfect sense for government operations. Have you ever noticed that the police aren't a "business", and neither are Firemen. These are things that the ENTIRE community needs and benefits from having (that's what the US Constitution means when it talks about taxation for the "GENERAL WELFARE".
Taking money, by force, from one person to give to only one other person or group is robbery. Taking money from all to support ALL is called "civic responsibility".
