Before we begin, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for my life, and all the gifts which I've been given in it, including the ability to make this extension. Your name be glorified, my Savior, even in something as small as this. Amen.

"Hey, would you say I became a hero?"

I believe we all would, Zack Fair. Hey all, welcome to Amateur Extension Theater 2000 -- the price of freedom may forever be steep, but at least the music here's free. I'm your host, Alkahest.

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core is a Square-Enix RPG for the PSP. It serves as a prelude to the events in Final Fantasy VII proper, and focuses on an idealistic, noble young swordsman named Zack Fair. He dreams of becoming a SOLDIER 1st Class, but life, it seems, has plans all its own in store for him...

'The Price of Freedom' is a powerful guitar-themed piece played at the very end of Zack's journey, if I'm not mistaken. Hints of it exist at various points across the rest of the soundtrack, but it's this iteration where we hear the theme in all its raw, painful glory. One can't help but admire how such an idealistic young rookie could turn out to be such a mature, yet lovable warrior; a valorous man who fought for his dreams, his pride, and above all else, those whom he held close to his heart. It's safe to say that without him, FF7 would have been a very different game... though a version of it -with- him would've been much better, in my opinion. Bah!

For those of you who might be wondering, this track has no actual loop point; it was meant to be played from start to finish. I've improvised a manual loop like I did on 'With Pride', which to me at least preserves the power of the original version while allowing us to enjoy it in an extended format. I hope you'll enjoy it as well.

Images taken from: I would love to tell you, except the notepad I kept that info on was lost in a computer crash. Putting 'Zack Fair' into any search engine, as well as image hosting services, will probably turn them up eventually. Sorry gang!
