There are a number of side loaders used by Bankstown's works firm to collect the many recycling bins each day, with this MkIV compactor being the one I caught that Friday flinging those 240Ls into the hopper. In this video we see the fortnightly recycling collection taking place in the suburb of Revesby, with a fast 2.5 year old MacDonald Johnston Recycle side loader as the machine.

A quick thanks to the driver of this truck, who was a very speedy operator and a very friendly and cheery bloke. Be sure to take a look at the videos of the big blue green-waste truck and revving garbage truck at work, hope you enjoy the video, please rate and comment.

Body Make: MacDonald Johnston
Model: 29m MkIV SPORT : Recycle Body
Chassis: Iveco Acco
Council: Bankstown City
Contractor: Civic Services (Council Works)
Collection Type: Commingled Recycling

  • Great footage Mitch! Should go back their soon and film some more. How many more councils do u have to film to have filmed every council in NSW

  • @aussiegarbo80 Already have gone back for more videos, just haven't uploaded anything yet. I won't be going to EVERY council, but still plenty to do for NSW, pretty much knocked off Sydney with the exception of new trucks.

  • For sure the arm has been sped up, you can hear it slamming every time its retracted. MacDonald Johnson would making alot of money of you guys. Probably quick for this video, but how long can you keep it up for?? Trying doing that with more traffic, narrower streets, trees more parked cars. Where you are is almost a one armers heaven. Whats your pick up rate when arm is at factory setting??

  • @Tangimana53 No doubt this arm's been sped up... just check out how quick it is going up and down! If you see my garbage video from Bankstown, there's another truck in there with altered settings. Out in western Sydney I've noticed the arm runs look pretty cruisy, massive difference when you hit the northern beaches though.

  • do you know what type of bins they are?

  • @SitaEnvironmental Nylex... new bins are Sulos.

  • Damn accurate driver, and he's leaving them all standing up too - not flinging them everywhere.

Looks like the lifter has been sped up a bit, nice clean truck too, great one Mitch. Thanks.

  • Great work, 5/5
