@itsafarfarbetterthin appreciate. verb 1. to value or regard highly; place a high estimate on: to appreciate good wine. 2. to be fully conscious of; be aware of; detect: to appreciate the dangers of a situation. Not everything has only one meaning. Art has many mediums, and yes, some of them may be immoral, twisted, and cruel. I'm commenting on whether or not this is art, not whether I agree with the medium used to express his message.

@DrummermanMatt I agree in that good art requires talent. But it doesn't take a talented person to create bad art. And I'm not commenting on the quality of Vargas's art. I'm not saying I agree with his stance, his views, his message, or his method. Just commenting on whether on not it is art.

@VvendettAa The dog was not even dying when Vargas picked him up from the streets. There is a film on YouTube of the entire time span, the dog was not even starving in the beginning, he had normal weight. Vargas starved him to death to be provocative only in order to force humans to pay attention to him as an artist. Now the gallery wants him to do this same exhibit again with another dog. We must stop him. Please go to Care 2, Starving dog is not art, and sign the petition.

I don't care whether it is seen as art or not by anyone. The subject here is extreme cruelty to animals. Guillermo Vargas has starved a dog to death, he lied about it and changed his story several times and finally did not even say what happened to the dog in the end. The dog was seen at the exhibit for several days, not for 3 hours. Nobody said anything, nobody fed the dog, nobody gave him water, nobody called for help, nobody confronted the artist. Vargas should be executed.

Also a lot of people say its so people would start feeding animals, that were on the street. I say **** If he really cared, he would feed dogs him self, and post pictures of dogs/paint pictures of dogs starved, not use a real one. Thats like saying the best way to stop child starvation is to get a starting child and tie him up for everyone to watch. He's just saying that to save his ass. He's a sick man.
