@andiback holy hell man, I never thought about that... thats almost exactly like the first movie. Maybe they did that on purpose for a sequel that never was ( I refuse to accept Terminator 3 as part of this series )

What's really hard is when the T-800 says "I have to go away John" you can tell that it's trying to emote but cannot, being a robot. Hence the line "I see why now you cry..." because it's the only way it can show that it understands human emotion but cannot ever hope to express it. It's heartbreaking to watch. Everyone talks about Arnold not being able to emote or act and only succeeding as an emotionless robot. But that's what made him give a performance that many actors would kill for.
