A run of the North Coast Limited on the N Scale layout OWNRY of Kent Williams. This layout is fully CTC signaled using Digitrax DCC and JMRI Panel Pro. No sound because camera is on front of train.

  • Just saw the Video. Seeing more of the "first" person/ camera vids lately. What a rush. There was someone Video of Camera on board, they operated from a moniter in a "dispatch" room. The rails look great. Handlaid, flex? Also what is the brand of the turnouts. They have a true on the points. Keep enjoying the Railroading.

  • @Na69Mach1 glad you liked this video. I took the movie 2 yrs ago. much has changed. need to redo it. track and turnouts are Atlas Code 55. I do have some new handlaid turnouts in Portland station area. a 3 way #6 and a double slip in code 55. thanks to the new jigs available.

  • STUNNING layout! Would love to see this in person sometime! Alas, being in MN might make this a difficult thing for me to do...

I, too, am impressed with your signals -- they look amazingly like the actual thing!

    GREAT job!

  • if ever you are northern california foothills, stop by. photos on my picasa site. ID is ownry108

  • Nice layout and train. Did you have to custom paint the North Coast LTD? I haven't seen very many but I've always wanted one.

  • the paint job is custom, done by a friend about 15 yrs ago. Kato F7 (originals) units.

  • Just found this. Very, very good. I love cab rides videos. I also model in N. Is that you in the red vest?

  • The other aspect implemented is flashing yellow instead of yellow because many small N scale signals are hard for people to distinguish between yellow and green. some people are color blind. IT may not be prototypical, but in operating mode it makes it easier for engineers to read. Just a little practical tweak from 5 years of operating my layout.

  • Thanks for clear answer. I will implement the signal aspect in my developping signaling system of my n-scale layout. A movie for the preliminary test has been updated in my youtube account.
