'Geweldenaren Van Ver' (Tyrants From Afar) - A small short, trailer-style aiming at totally blowing away the audience and clear up the common misunderstanding - once and for all - that smaller studios in Holland indeed have enough experience and expertise to fulfill the task of doing realistic animated 3D.

So pop the corn, dim the light, max the volume... and... Enjoy!

Clearing the air a little: no need for rival talk. Before he didn't give us credit, but now he does. All is good! :-)

Nothing wrong with someone doing it better and longer. I like the other version better. Shows real directorialship. Geweldenaren Van Ver just shows technical skill. Thanks for the ideas!

It is kind of a downer to see that their ideas was in a sense, riped off, and evolved upon.

However, I'm glad to see that director Alvarez included the original link, and in the end, Alvarez's fame probably upped the popularity of this video and this studio too. So these guy's didn't technically "lose", either. Major major props to both studios.

I doubt it because the other guy gives this video credit as the inspiration for his short film.

Ummmm. How is this in any way better? Animation, is worse. The models, are worse. The way they animated over the real enivironment (like the cement breaking or the water splashing) really sold the cgi on the other video, this one feels very, very fake. Then, in the other video, which is WHY they hired him, as a DIRECTOR, not an animator, was he got actors to act in a good manner. He got hired, for a director, for his directing skills. This shows of CGI skills. The other guy did both, better

The guy who made Panic Attack, clearly says he was inspired by this..I only watched this because he has the link on his films page....

At least he isn't some douche bag like that lady who said she invented Hunger Games, when clearly it was inspired and "recreated in her own imagine" of the foreign movie "Battle Royale".

Yeah attacking robots is a common theme in Sci Fi, look at Star Wars or Mars Attacks, this is not much further away from the "Battle of Hoth" or The Robot in Mars Attacks!

What you just stated is completely pointless. So, you're saying that a tech demo of 50's based robots has more potential than a cinematic story of robots (complete with real actors and people)?

You guys shouldn't complain. Panic Attack is a much better work of film/story plus it has better art direction. Your level of talent is very common here in Hollywood. While yours looked like a coomercial to a B-movie, theirs looked like an actual film clip. Cows?!... but no people...? Turn your anger and jealously into a better work of film next time. Competition always brings out the fight in all of us.
