Ed McMahon died today at age 86. Know as Johnny Carson's sidekick, host of Star Search and TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes he was also a commercial pitchman for years. Including for Budweiser Beer, even though he also admitted to having a drinking problem. This is one of his earlier commercials for Budweiser. Enjoy. • Ed is too much of a gentleman to say it here, but with a county fair's typical assortment of just-released carnies, toxic plastic prizes and grabass-playing children and adults alike, an ice cold Bud is just the thing to take the edge off.

  • Ed looks like he was in his early 30's here.

  • This ad was first seen around 1967, and probably appeared during the third of Frank Sinatra's "A Man and His Music" specials, which were also sponsored by Budweiser [Ed McMahon announcing]. No other beer had a better pitchman than Ed...when he told you to "Pick-a-Pair" in the spring and summer (that is, buy TWO packs of Bud instead of just one), you did!

  • Ill bet Ed wishes he had a Budweiser right now.

  • I love Ed McMahon. =]
