Yoel Ben David has believed in Jesus since July, 2001. Yoel was born in Rehovot (about a 40-minute drive south of Tel Aviv) in Israel. He lived in the Caribbean for one year, England for 12 years and Paris, France for three years before returning to Israel at the end of 1998. His mother is Jewish and is from Morocco; his father, who is not Jewish, hails from Scotland. Yoel speaks, reads and writes English, French and Hebrew fluently. Before becoming a believer in Jesus, Yoel and his wife-to-be Adel spent time as part of the Hassidic Breslov movement. Now married, the Ben Davids have three children.

  • @DoctorScuba Hey Doc. Hate is hate. Hater. :)

  • whats next? perhaps "Jews for DAVID DUKE"?

  • Behold,ADONAI cometh with 10 thousands of his saints,to execute judgment upon all,and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him (YESHUA)( yahuda 1:14 b,15 )

  • @looker2Utube Think critically: Do not engage in the censorship the Church was guilty of, and that modern Judaism still attempts to spoon feed us. Fact: modern Judaism is far from what it was pre-70. The NT, whether you like it or not, was written and dispersed by Jews. It was Jews who realized the deity and three-fold ministry of Messiah: Prophet/Priest/King. Lubavitchers follow Schneerson, Karaites reject Talmud, but Yeshuans cannot follow and tell about their 1st cent. Messiah?

  • @looker2Utube No scholar today would publish a paper on the topic of God's "body" at any respectable institution (to include JTS or Brandeis) relying on half a verse. The context of Nu 23:19 is not related to God's ability to inhabit the very dimension He created. This medieval method of chopping verses to force a reading is now known as "cherry picking". Respect to the RaMBaM, but this exegetical method, which Church fathers are guilty of, is now shunned in bible scholarship.

  • @looker2Utube Continued from below: My friend, your most fundamental monkey wrench in thinking critically is not differentiating between being Jewish on the one hand, and following Rabbinic JUDAISM on the other.

Let's get a couple things straight: When you say "Judaism" then quote the well-known Numbers passage to refute the possibility of God's appearance in the physical, it appears that you have never thought through carefully, with distinctions, what you have been told. tbc ...

  • @looker2Utube

My friend, it is contradictory to claim you adhere to Torah only while basing all your ideas (really presuppositions) about the NT on what has been spoon-fed to you from Rabbinic tradition. No offense, really. But your reliance thereupon is glaring. You cite the RaMBaM extensively, sometimes w/o realizing these are his ideas you are gleaning. I see you are not a Karaite. Even your use of the derogatory "Yeshu" is Talmudic.

  • @looker2Utube To accuse institutionalized religion of censorship while engaging in it yourself is hypocritical. Your stance betrays perilous views. You do not feel it is wrong to rewrite history or contort the image of one legitimately Jewish sect against the Torah-distant one you endorse? Rather than allow Jews to embrace a Jewish, 1st century Messiah, you would defend a cult strain within Judaism which perpetuates the kind of hegemonic dictatorship the Herodians once enforced?

  • @looker2Utube Let's begin with the sophomoric assertion: "xtianity was/is a breakway [sic] cult of Judaism."

My friend, in the 1st century there was no such thing as "xtianity's bible." Historical fact is that the NT was recorded by JEWS (and one God-fearer, Luke) referencing Jeremiah's "new covenant".

Christ, merely the Greek term for Messiah, does not rule out the appearance of God in 3-dimensional form, God's shaliach. Or do you also presume to dictate to God how he may appear?

  • @looker2Utube Just for the record, you did not present a challenge to me. No offense intended, but your statements are not challenging. They are bigoted and ignorant at best.

This idea about "the burden of proof" being on "us" (whoever you think I am) has been revived and tossed around again for several decades now by pseudo-intellectuals. Just FYI, it is far from being the nail in the coffin argument you've bought into.

Your lack of understanding of Jewish history is glaring.
