I really think Law & Order dumbed down over the years. The dialogue isn't as sharp as it once was. A lot of redundancies, like 6:22's "You want a woman to be the one calling April a liar". Here a character is making explicit what in earlier seasons the audience would've be left to infer on their own. It's like the writers are afraid the viewers won't get it if it's not made obvious. The same point can be made regarding other aspects of the show that have changed over the years. It got 'easier'.

@doda The episode you are probably referring to was originally on SVU. The episode was called "Design." I am sure it was in Season 5, or either Season 6. You might have to look it up on IMBD.
