Here is a short video to demonstrate how effect silencer pads are when used on a cymbal. The cymbal is a Sabian XS20 Medium Crash. The silencer mutes are pretty effective on cymbals, even if they do take away quite alot of the cymbals sound - but that is what they a designed for!

  • The cymbal pads are probably not as good as the drum pads - but they still reduce the sound levels by around 70-80% - which is better than nothing!

  • You're not doing it right. The pad goes over the edge of the cymbal and you crash into it that way. Its a lot cleaner and a little more muffling. The way you have it is how you would use it for a ride

  • sounds like a clamped china

  • Good demo of the cymbal mute. Was that the cymbal's price tag falling off after the first mute hit? :)

  • m8 what is ya kit, its well nice

  • thanks for this. I thought they were better. :/
