this was my first time at the track WITH the car (september 10th, 2004) so i was SUPER excited and i WOULD NOT shut up. at the start when my dad comes down the lane entrance, you can see my head in the passenger seat. the official was mopping up some oil on the track so thats why the little blip of a burnout was at the start. our camera man didnt want to shut down and wait. dad set the NOS timer to 1 full second so you can hear the system kick on. COOL!! be sure to watch the other videos

  • I might be getting a 79 firebird for my first car. Thinking about building a 350 for it, but nothing like this hahaha

  • @96jmohr Build a 400 Pontiac for it! Those are the best!

  • what size are your front tires?

Do you think the car would pick up if you went to a 3.73 or 4.10?

  • @TKOUTLAW1 The front tires are Mickey Thompson Sportsman 28x7.5. And to answer your question, no I don't think the car would benefit from shorter gears. Since the motor makes about 1000hp when the nitrous is activated, a shorter gear would just add to the already present problem of spinning at the launch. A shorter gear would slow the car even more. If my dad had better traction the car should be running 8.70s with both nitrous kits activated.

  • bad ass firebird man what kinda motor and tran you runnin and what ya got for rearend gears?

  • @bubub56 Thanks for the comment. In this video the motor and trans combo is a 509 Chevy Big block with a TH400 trans. The rear gear is 3.54 :1 in a Dana 60 housing. Some of my other videos show the car with the original 400 in it. You should check them out.
