Inhofe: Many here in the Senate may be surprised to learn that that this administrations position is to let China off the hook. Nowhere in the U.S. submission to the conference do we require China to commit to any binding emission reduction requirements before 2020. In fact, before 2020, the submission only asks for nationally appropriate mitigation actions, followed by a low carbon strategy for long term net emissions reductions by 2050. I would submit that this position is perfectly suited for the U.S. Instead, we give the best to China and leave America with Waxman-Markey." Read more at epw.senate.gov

  • I wonder how much Chinese lobbyists paid Waxman and Markey? This will devastate the American taxpayer, and consumer into serf status. Obama said he wouldn't raise taxes on Americans in his campaign promises. Did he ever LIE through his teeth again...!!!

  • Senator Inhofe,

After watching your speech in its entirety, there are many ways that I could express my feelings. I could give flowery praise or bring forth positive witticisms to name a few. However, I believe that the best way to appropriately and completely express my thoughts would be to do so succinctly, so I'll say this....Thank you! K.C. , Tallahassee, FL

  • One of the most honest politicians I've seen in my lifetime. If everyone was like this man we wouldn't have so many issues in America. This man should at least consider running for President be it 2012 or the in the future.

  • Thank you, Sen. Inhofe. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • These peices of shits are puppets.

  • To GuyNoir22 et al who believe in C&T: I live in Switzerland. C&T has been adopted throughout Europe...and has been totally ineffective in reducing CO-2. But, the governments love it as it makes them a middle man in the trading. Americans: Don't agree to this.

  • Yes, they did.

  • Gentlemen,

We have a number of real world case studies to look out. The UK, France, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden all used cap-and-trade programs and all reduced their CO2 emissions to below 1990 levels (13% below in the case of the UK). Did they destroy their economies? Did their GDPs tank (or even dip)? Did their unemployment rates spike? Did they suffer any serious negative economic consequences at all?

  • Yeah, he keeps saying one thing and doing another. Even to the point of double-crossing his own previous statements.

  • Not to mention that the people this affect are not the ones in the governement taking free plane rides over NY and running his wife around the world on shopping sprees.

  • Funny, that's the same way the supporters of this bill can be described.
