Definition of "Faith"

Merriam-Webster

- allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty

- fidelity to one's promises : sincerity of intentions

- belief and trust in and loyalty to God : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion

- firm belief in something for which there is no proof

- something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs

So, Faith = allegiance to or belief in something without facts.

Faith is essential in science. You must be a follower of Richard Dawkins who teaches that Faith and Creation are dumb. Faith is defined as confidence or trust, and Creation is the opposite of destruction.

What's the most compelling piece of evidence which you believe supports your faith in the theory that all life mutated from one living organism of origin unknown?

First of all, these are two very distinct theories. But you chose them because they disagree with your pre-conceived conclusions (conformational bias).

Why do you not have issues with other more controversial theories?

I am no astrophysicist, so, I will stay away from refuting Halton Arp's theory on QSO's....

However, Evolution is very well supported with evidence. This is not a "faith", but simply the most plausible conclusion based upon verifiable evidence.
