Nice emu iii. But never used macs though since I don't think they were really needed, lol. I have had korg dss1, roland 550, 770, newer emu's, some other synths and drum machines etc. Used a friends jupiter 8 way back. - Now I have an i7 based 3.6ghz system, win 7, sonar 8, and the newest emulator x2 which is fun. I'm getting x3 tomorrow. I just want to keep emu sounds around.. I also have some of those sounds, but more would be better...
An old Mac with an EII (not an EIII BTW) is invaluable for loading of sounds via Sound Designer. Like an external hard disk arrangement for the EII. :)
I read of that use after use after I posted and missed that point. But now I wonder, if there isn't another way since emu x2 and x3 support loading of emulator II libraries through 2 programs. One from emu, the other from translator program. But partly dependent on what device disk library sits on. But I can read many old scsi drives and then import them. It may just be the old floppy that is a problem, so your solution would be good. But also at this point I think most well known
E II libraries have already been converted to CD's, and can then be important to various new systems. Not saying it's perfect, but often it sounds great. I may get some of these libraries if available. And I guess EII has no scsi like EIII. So it's tough to move old sounds. So I see your point.
He didnt seem to be doing much since the mid nineties...other people played his themes on the soundtracks to the subsequent Terminator movies... True Lies might have been the last.. Shame, if so.... He did great stuff.
This and the Fairlight CMI were my 80's wet dream. What brilliant sounds, some even by todays standards. The choirs are still amazing. Nice ending with the Terminator theme !

E-MU Emulator Software Sampler+USB/Midi Interface.
ca.280 euro
;-)
I paid $ 24500 for mine back in '84 ...including the entire library.
Sold it in '87
Somehow this was my last keyboard to really have a soul.
The best trick is to use all 8 outputs, and pan them hard L - R ...gives the same huge natural stereo as the OB8
Shame, if so.... He did great stuff.
