@TangoKarta and that it is not just a word like any other. for all of them and for keep ourselves away from provocations i've suggested using neutral word passionate.
now, my youtube skills suck. don't know how to post those notes in right order so you'll have to read them from lowest (start's with "i'm well aware of that") to highest one. sorry for that but i'm lame.

@TangoKarta it's just a hype (is that a right word?). a fashion. nothing else. like all fashions it must past. hopefully soon. anyway you, me, kids that consider themselves a part of the scene when saying 'emo' think of something very different then the kids who stay out. that controversy around calling some scene band emo has a beginnig in the meaning of the word. youtube and whole internet is filled with people who have no idea whatsoever what is the scene. an why it is called THE scene.

@TangoKarta there is no way of bringing the pre-2k meaning of emo back. it was chewed, swallowed and spat out in somewhat changed form. more fashionable, less meaningfull. i'm not trying to say it's wrong. guess that's just the way the mainstream works -it takes something from underground turns it upside down and inside out and gives it to kids. someone makes a dollar on it. after couple of years the kids get bored and the mainstream has to look for something else in the underground.

@TangoKarta i'm well aware of that. it's like if you listen to lp's released by the dischord rec it's all so emotional. or, as i said, passionate. even in the 90's. check out the crownhate ruin - one of my favourite bands. in my opinion it's not the 90's that brought the shit into emo. it's 2k i'd say. guess that's the time when the word 'emo' got into the mainstream and stayed there. the mainstream of course changed the meaning of it.

@thomascreo I'm not trying to contradict you exactly, I do agree with what you said, but the emo scene actually started in hardcore. With music somewhat similar to this. It was originally called emocore. It's pretty good shit. Then the 90's came around and the sound got ruined. Check out Rites of Spring. They were the original "emo" band. You might be suprised.

best hardcore band ever

@thomascreo melodic hardcore is a good description!:) what do you think!? here in germany, all dudes say melodic hardcore!

maybe we all should just start using word passionate instead of emotional to describe hardcore? maybe it'd fit better. that would keep us apart from that emo-thing. emo... fuck that, who cares anyway. there's a line in H2O lyrics: "What happened to the passion?" for me that's what keeps us together: passion. not a trend or brand of jeans we wear. fuck that. just keep that shit away. don't pay attention. hardcore.
