Here is a review on what HDMI switching is. The AV receiver that is featured here is an old Sony AV receiver, about a year old. I have posted a video about a week ago on Sony's newest AV receiver.
First time i hooked up everything dvd was working but there were straight lines on the tv,sound was fine.I was thinking that hdmi cable is not
working so i replaced it but still,
My sound bar now can't recognize my DVD player.Everything is conected with Hdmi cables.Hdmi1 input is used for Hd box,Hdmi2 for DVD and there is one that goes to the tv.DVD turns on and I see that movie started but no picture or sound on tv.I am using Samsung tv and Samsung sound bar HW-D550.
can you tell me if this sounds right, i bought a sony receiver, i kept all the connections the same at the tv and only used a digital coax from tv to receiver and there is sound. is this correct way to do it?
this reciever has only 1 hdmi input. so u would have to use component or something else which would be a step down from hdmi. or instead you could run hdmi from ur dvd, xbox etc.. to a high resolution tv then run optical or coasx cables from the tv output to the reciever input.
