My girlfriend and I ride to go shopping during the first snowfall of Chicago Bike Winter 2008 http://bikewinter.org/ This was her first time riding a bike in the snow, but she took to it like a duck to water cutting through the fresh powder like a Bike Winter Pro. A slip and fall can result in a serious head injury...a helmet is probably more important during winter rides, but it's a good idea to wear on always.
