This is a very brief guide to playing the guitar backing for Dave Van Ronk's classic version of Walter Davis's "Come Back Baby". This was requested by Craig from New Jersey. Craig - hope you find this useful.

  • Thanks for helping to break this down. I used to see Van Ronk play this song many times at Greenwich Village folk cafes and it's always been one of my favorites. Such a classic. It's great you're helping to keep this sort of music alive, 'cuz this is a song (and an arrangement) that should live forever.

  • @GoodNoteDJ You saw Van Ronk - respect! :-)

  • Will - thanks for this video, is there any tab available? I see the chord breakdown in the beginning but your actual fingering looks different (different places on the neck). Either way, very nice and I agree with everyone here, DVR was the best.

  • Many thanks for taking the time to put this together. The combination of playing and fretboard diagrams worked really well for me, I found it really clear and easy to follow: An excellent lesson. I shall be exploring your other videos for similar gems.

  • Wonderful

  • Brilliant tutorial. (and fine tasty playing anall'!) Many thanks for this.
