Great Video!! I found it interesting that YC requires a candle topper to help eliminate soot, while burning an alternative clean-burning candle requires nothing extra! Are YC candles made in the USA?

I hat it when you smell a fragrance, and it's too strong you end up tasting it.. Gross!

A candle displayed in a standing position can be smelled at its base, on the bottom, to get a better idea of its true fragrance. Of course, if it comes from a mixed bin, where they've all just been thrown in, good luck!
The Illuma-lid he showed is great for burning your candles evenly. I've always had a problem with that but thankfully Yankee Candle came up with a cure for me! I own everything YC, they're just wonderful! I even use the Illuma-lids on my smaller jars. Works great!
When your candle burns down to far to light it, just stick it on a warmer!
Votives never give off enough scent for me. I cut them to fit inside my empty 3.7oz jars and put the jar on a warmer in my bathroom. YUM!

Thanks so much for the helpful tips! They are great! It's smart to use the warmer once the candle has burned down very low. Thanks again! -- Meghan

what happens if u get candles and they dont have lids, how do u smell it then, some candles dont come in jars, like dinner candles

I know. That's a problem. Those candles are just hard to smell because the scent of the candle goes out into the air instead of being trapped in the lid of a jar. My suggestion would be to see if the store has the same scent in a jar version to test it out. If not, I guess we're all back to sticking our nose in the candle to get as much of a scent as possible.

I actually work at a Yankee Candle store, and to smell pillar candles, votives, or basically anything else that does not come in a jar, you should pick them up and smell the bottom of them. This is because the candle is sitting on the fragrance in these styles of candle, so it makes it much easier to pick up on the scent when you smell the bottom of it.
