written by Ewan MacColl during the British Miner's strike in 1984. Macgregor was an American imported by the NCB (national coal board) by the Thatcher administration to break the miner's union. 25,000 casettes of this song were handed out on the picket line. My new cd release with the album version of this song is available for download for 0.99 at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/Andyblue

  • Tremendous, well done. I've been looking for that song eve since the strike.

  • Well be are back facing the same class wars thugs from Eton, Ewan would be at the forefront of the fightback...he is sorely missed.

I used to have a cassette copy of the strike songs but its long lost, I'd love to get hold of a copy again as they as so very apt for our current times.

  • As a member of a miners' wives support group, I got a copy of the L.P. Which Side Are You On, a great L.P. which has this song on it.

I don't think the albumn was on general release. I intend to get mine transferred to c.d.

  • Great stuff, thanks for posting.

  • Fantastic,well done.UP THE WORKERS
