Watch Bill land a nice NJ Steelhead on March 14th after heavy rains have the creeks flowing and the fish moving. Come see some pictures of the fish over at http://www.troutpin.com/fishing-blog.html Bill is fishing with a Centerpin Rig from TroutPin.com It is a Center Pin Rod designed for trout streams. NJ was fishing really well before the season closed. NJ Streams and Rivers are in the shadow of PA's amazing limestone creeks, but truly hold their own.

  • Clearly youtube doesn't let you type in any web site info here. I suppose you can figure out our site from my last encrypted post.

  • troutpin dotcom

  • egkg75, thanks for the posts. We are working on editing the vid to include some stills of the fish. Swing over to our site to see more info and the still pics. Center Pin is the type of fishing, not the location. Location is in North Central NJ. Center Pinning is the most effective way to fish this time of year.

  • nice rainbow. Theres no steelhead in NJ. i'm thinking Bill spends some time up in Pulaski.

  • What river

  • I think it's a rainbow trout or a brooky

  • Whete in nj is this

  • Where's this?!?!?

  • @Ryevin There are no rainbows stocked where they were fishing, there was once back in the 80's but the little creek only sees surplus brookies.

  • I would doubt that this is a stocked fish though judging from the health of the fins.

  • There is no steelheads in Jersey. Technically steelheads are a sea run rainbow trout. The great lakes have a few strand of steelheads in them, but nothing in jersey.

  • this is a strain of rainbow called a redbanned. jersey has no steelhead runs or streams. i fish jersey and new york regularly and i've caught this type of rainbow in the past. theyre a very pretty fish

  • since when doe's jersey have steelhead ?
