Just videos of initial start up with this newer Sportster that I mounted a 500cc Arcti Cat Engine in. This is a salvage Sporty I bought without a motor. It was such a pain in the ass to get new cases I decided to morph it into a automatic moped on steroids with a 500cc Artic Cat air cooled snowmobile motor. It is oil injected and I was able to use the stock sporty oil tank as the two stroke oil reservoir. Nothing is hacked on the frame. I made a stand alone engine cradle off the existing rubber motor mounts so a guy could covert it back to a Sporty engine in a few hours with no issues. I am anxious to see how it runs.

  • please post video of it running!!!! please

  • @markdam Guys I would love too. Sadly my lazy ass hasn't touched that bike since that video. I really need my bike lift so i promise it is a prioity for this summer.

  • motor makes probly 60 70 hp

love the idea now you need to find a liquid cooled 700 and smoke some rockets

  • @kcstudlee I would love to but just an air twin was damn wide to get my legs comfortably around. I was think the same thing until I measured a few liquid tripples in width.

  • Bootht99 I think you are right. I believe it was 89 or 90 is what the title on the snowmobile said. Do you know what these motors make HP wise? I know this will be less since the expansion pipe is gone.

  • why would you do that to a nightster faggot

  • @billtheworker Bill will you have someone read the description to your hillbilly ass and then you might be able to understand why it was done. Do us a favor and next time you are out for a ride....wreck.

  • You CANNOT properly tune a 2 stroke with a straight pipe. Look up tuned pipe theory! You need to have a divergent cone , a belly, & a convergent cone for any gasoline 2 stroke to make power.

  • I like that -- Redneck engineering at it's finest -- and that little 2-stroke is probably throwing a lot more pep than the Hardley Abelson engine.

  • any progress>??????

  • @billtheworker, if you went to school and know how to read, maybe you can, ummm, read the description instead of working as an ass licker at a construction site

  • like to see ore please of this bike walk around

  • The best thing to ever happen to a hardley!

  • @billtheworker =ASSDOUCHE

  • i think it need a small liquid motor. like a 550, 580 or 600. it would be up to about 98hp with the 580 and 105hp with a 600. plus the motors arent much bigger.

  • @vrodcustoms That motor made 56hp from the factory. My old man had one in '90. I would think the loss of the pipe would cost 10hp or so... Just a guess. Jettng that for the conditions might be tricky. Cool project though!

  • @mcskatin well yea its an automatic but you still have gear ratios from the secondary clutch to the rear wheel, just like a snowmobile. You can change gear ratios on a snowmobile for top speed or for low end grunt.
