The Hyundai Elantra was redesigned for the 2007 model year. Beginning with 2010 models built after November 2009, design changes were made to the side airbags and body side and rear door structure to improve occupant protection in side impact crashes (note: information about when a specific vehicle was manufactured is on the certification label typically affixed to the car on or near the driver door).
Injury measures:

Driver — Measures taken from the dummy indicate that rib fractures and/or internal organ injuries plus a fracture of the pelvis would be possible in a crash of this severity.

Rear passenger — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Head protection:

Driver — The dummys head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof and a side airbag that deployed from the seat.

Rear passenger — The dummys head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.

Sure, they aren't as good as some manufacturers, but in terms of interior quality, the cheap ass Accent and Elantra have better interior quality and are more comfortable than a BMW 3 series (costing 4 times as much)

are you kidding me?? it has a higher quality interior, better safety and better warranty than the chevrolet cobalt, ford focus; cheaper than all it's rivals, has a hyundai's excellent warranty plus hyundai's overall vehicle quality has gone up
